Omeruo Cautioned Super Eagles Against Guinea Bissau Clash On Monday

Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, sheds light on the team’s cautious approach and the underlying perplexity surrounding the impending clash.

CB Kenneth Omeruo has emphasized the need for a serious approach in Nigeria’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match against Guinea Bissau.

Omeruo is aware of the threat posed by Guinea Bissau and cautioned against underestimating Baciro Cande’s side.

The encounter is scheduled to take place at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan, on Monday.

Despite Guinea Bissau’s winless record in the competition, Omeruo remains wary and stressed the importance of not taking their opponents lightly.

The CB said the Super Eagles are familiar with Monday’s opponent, having faced them in the qualifiers, and dismissed predictions of an easy victory.

“It’s going to be an interesting game. We know Guinea-Bissau very well,” Omeruo offered in the pre-match presser.

“We must not go into the game thinking that we are going to beat them. That will not help us at all.”

Nigeria has four points from two previous games against Equatorial Guinea and Cote D’Ivoire, while Guinea Bissau are yet to register a point.
